Trying to find information on an Elizabeth Readman born 1850 in Goathland/Yorkshire who may have emigrated to America/Australia some time after 1870.She had several brothers & sisters all born in & arround Egton.Her parents were Francis & Jane Any help would be great.

I dont know if Elizabeth emigrated or not her younger sister Harriet is my Great Grandmother. I have the readmans going back quiet away. Imhave Elizabeth as been married to William slieghtholme but got that bit of info from someone else. I have 12 siblings for Elizabeth . I know I am a few years behind and you night have found your info..

but there were Elizabeth Readman births in Whitby district in 1849, 1851, 1852 and 1853
... none in 1850, but the 1849 birth would appear as 1850 in a census

people often reported their age inaccurately, so this could be Elizabeth

only the marriage certificate would tell


interestingly, that household does seem to disappear from records after that, for instance no further trace of

about 20 people have son William in trees at this site, for instance (with various not quite correct birthplaces, and some with an 'e' on the end of the name)

since this Elizabeth's age remains consistent, if the one we are looking for was older, this seems not to be her
