Find Ancestors

Can anyone please help. I'm stuggling to get started with the parents of my late father in law. My Father in law was:

Bobbie Reynolds 05/06/1931. Bilston Wolverhampton. I'm pretty sure his father was John Thomas Reynolds c1905 probably also Bilston. I know from Bob's birth record his mom's was Turner and I know that she died when Bob was a child. I can't seem to be able to find any more details. ANy help would be much appreciated. I think Mandy has the birth record but she didn't say his mum's first name so it's me that guessed it could be Esther from the free bmd record.

Ahhh Flick, I understand record to be just that - a record in this case certs. I would never refer to to the index as a record. However, Flick you very well may be right in this instance, she may well be referring to the index rather than the record/cert.

Thanks everyonre I had John Thomas date of birth wrong. Bobbie's mom was Esther Turner. I don't have the birth cert I was looking at the index.
