my gt/grandfather was thomas gill who came to lancashire from australia.1870.
on his wedding cert 1872 he was aged 21 the son of william.

1911 uk census his birthplace is said to be sandhills sydney aust.
sandhills was a local name for area were central station is now.

i think there may be a connection.

Hi all, I am trying to find more info on my Great Grandfather William Thomas Gill. He married Agnes Wilson Gillespie in Sydney Australia in 1897. At the time of his death (c.1914) his parentswere recorded as William T. and Emma Gill. I presume he was born in the UK as I cannot find any births registered in Australia.
