I am trying to trace anything about Frank Platek
He was born around 1930 - I think from Colorado springs
He married Elsie Gledhill born around 1930
I don't know whether they married in the UK or USA - had two children - Joan and Thomas
I know that Frank was over in the UK during the war and met Elsie (american GI)
I don't really know where to start searching the american side.

yes - I know of Joan - so looks like you are onthe right track with regards the info on Frank Platek

There is a tree on Ancestry with these names on. Catherine was born in Bradford, Yorkshire to Clifford and Lilac 'Lily' Gill.
Frank was born in East Haddem, Conn. son of Joseph John from Poland and Magdaline Valas.
Owner is a Katherine Anderson.

Thank you - you have found out so much information for me - I wonder if all those children that are mentioned are Frank's siblings? - mother's name is different - unless she changed it to Margaret when she moved to America.

I also wonder what prompted them to move to america - don't know much about the history of Poland in 1906 - will have to try and find out abit of the history of Poland of that time
