Thanks - I know neither of them has been on in a while, but I was hoping. I sent Liili some information in the past.
Just recently, I saw Jane's contribution. She is definitely a relative and I imagine we both have a good deal of information to share. So here's hoping....

Neither appear to have posted on this thread or elsewhere since and may not now be members of GR.

You could try clicking on Lilli's name and send her a personal message - if she still has the same email address as she registered with GR they will notify her that she has a message in the system.

For a variety of reasons she might not receive the message and if she does, may not reply. You can check to see if she has seen the message by checking your own out box to see whether a closed envelope sits by the message or whether it's been opened

Catherine Brooks nee Doyle was my grandmother. She died in 1921 and her husband Frederick died in 1954. Their son, Brendan, was my father and Lorcan was his cousin.
If you contact me, I can explain the Gilligan connection and give you futher fmily information. I would like some further information on the Lusk connection and on the rest of Catherine's family - Laura, Andrew etc.

I meant to add that there was at least one older doyle girl - sister to Catherine Brooks nee Doyle who did not appear on the 1901 or 1911 census with them. I do not know if she was away or already married/remarried then as she was older than the other children on the census.

Laura my g grandmother was Catherine brooks nee doyle sister. There mother Catherine doyle nee devine was from lusk Dublin. One of there sisters married a Kelly and lived in lusk. you mention a galligan marrying a bridget Kelly. this was probably in a previous generation. Brendan would have had first cousin Kelly's in lusk Dublin.

Thanks Victoria. This is very kind, and very much appreciated.
However, we cannot see a Doyle of Devine connection with the Gilligans, although there are a lot of Devines from the Westmeath area.
We are wondering if the connection was via the one of the Gilligan children from ames Gilligan C1859 who Narried a Bridget Kelly C1874 Married 1889.
I did find a record for a Lorcan Francis Brooks on Family search, who married in Dublin in 1949..interested in him as his name was Lorcan...maybe I have the wrong Brooks? Although, the brooks we are intersted in had sisters Eithne and Carmel...which kinda makes it Brendan doesn't it?
Also, we know the Brooks we are after had a business in Dublin possibley in saddles and leather goods. Business went to ruin, due to 'family scandal'. Not sure how I can trace business details from uk? Any further help will be appreciated.
