Thanks, But not right one, i have found him in the 1861 census living in North Cave. I think i have just found him in the 1841 census along with his parents? they are living with a John & Sarah Shepherdson nee Farmery In Pocklington. I can't find him or his parents in the 1851 census, i know that his father was alive in 1853 from info got from marriage cert.

1871 & 1881 census spot on. His first marriage was 1853 and his second was in 18885 in Oldham.

Where did his first marriage take place?

I see that the eldest child was born in Manchester - if he was there in 1851, it may be that he is on the damaged returns and thus can't be found

Flick, Just been looking at that marriage index, 1875 in Wakefield. It maybe that he married 3 times? the marrige was in 3 quarter, his first wife Ann died in 1875 2nd quarter.

First marriage was in Market Weighton. reg district Pocklinton.

Just been looking in the deaths, found a Mary Farmery 1884, Oldham 8d 424, so it fits. Maybe he married 3 tims?

The 1875 marriage fits 100% with 1881 census

John FARMERY was bap 25.10.1829 North Cave son of John FARMERY (born 1791 Howden) and Ann (born 1793 North Cave).

John married Ann FISH Jun q 1853 Pocklington RD (she died 1875) and Mary MAKIN Sep q 1875 Wakefield RD (she died 1884). [I can see no marriage of a John FARMERY after this in Oldham RD]

I have not been able to find John in 1841, 1851 or 1891! I think his sister Sarah married John MILNER (Sep q 1841 Howden RD) not John SHEPHERDSON - what are the exact details you found for John and Sarah SHEPHERDSON in the 1841 census?
