Joyce - first of all check in your 'sent message' box to see if you did manage to send one. If you did and there is still an icon of an envelope next to it, it hasn't been read.

If you can't find a sent message, have another go. The last post on this thread was over 2 years ago. Unless Elaine is still a member and regularly checks her threads, she won't notice that you are hoping to contact her. GR will send an email to her registered address when ever you send messages meaning that she can still reply even if she no longer has a sub.

You probably knew that already ;-)

I should note here that John may have been born as early as 1802

........ the age of most people over the age of 15 was actually rounded down to the nearest 5 on the 1841 census.

Is this your guy on the 1841 Census???

If so .......... look at that Hannah Haywood, age 65

NAH ............ I was hopeful ............... BUT someone has added the information that her name was actually Hannah Pool and it was mistranscribed as Haywood. The image is very bad!!

On the actual census image, it is clear that someone wrote Lodger next to her name, and someone else then crossed it out.

Before 1837, you are into looking for the Parish records

....................... this is the record from the International Genealogical Index on www.familysearch.org which is the Mormon site

This is an Extracted record, taken from the actual parish record, so is accurate.

You may be able to request a copy of the microfiche to view at your local LDS centre.

thank you barbara,so he must of been born in mixon then.
by me looking at the 1841 census, and getting married there as well i just thought he was born in stafford.
could you tell me where i could find the marriage records for 1830 .thanks.

Barbara Report 16 May 2010 20:50

The 1841 census would just show a Y for if you wereborn in county or not, not the exact place. Some people said yes because they did not want to be moved on or the person giving the information didn't know exactly. The later census would probably have been the more accurate.

i'm stuck on trying to find the parents of john haywood he was born abt 1806, in the 1841 census says born in
audley staffordshire but in 1851 census (age 50 ) says born mixon shropshire, could that just be an error? he lived in staffordshire and married francies pool on 25 dec 1830 at st james church audley. would love any info . thanks elaine.
