Hello Robert,
I hope you are still active on the site. I have just stumbled across your 2010 posts. Ben Parker is my Great Great Grandfather via his daughter Charlotte Josephine born 1861. I have a fair amount of info on Ben and Ann Jane, also her parents and maternal grandparents.

Look forward to hearing from you.

All best wishes,
Tony.

Robert

Hi Ginny,
Thanks for the info - But to put you in the picture most of my family tree will be based in Scotland and I use 'Scotlands People' as my Site for research. It's a pretty good package for research. The reason for my searches on Benjamin Parker relate to a paper my mother gave me in the belief that BP was an ancestor. The paper was an extract from the 'Isle of Man Times'. Thankfully I have been able to trace the lineage from Benjamins son John right down to my Grandmother who lived in Edinburgh. Unfortunately my granny and mother are no longer with us and as I am a young 72 years of age I will be creating the family tree to pass to my two sons.
I hope I have not bored you too much with my ramblings.
Many thanks again.
Robert

Hi Robert

I'm not sure if you know of this FREE site, but you can check for BMD's here.

They are not as up to date as other 'paying' sites but they are up to about 1930/40 for most areas in Eng/Wales

Robert

Robert Report 21 Apr 2010 14:35

My Great Great Great Grandfather Benjamin Parker was with the East India Company and stationed on St Helena from 1826 to 1837. During his service there he married a local girl (Jane) and they were blessed with the birth of two sons before leaving St Helena and returning to the United Kingdom. In my investigations I have been able to identify one of the sons as John but so far I have not been able to locate a name for the other son. Perhaps someone out there will be able to help me on this matter.
Thank you
