John Kirkpatrick and Margaret Mathieson also had an older daughter Agnes Margaret born 8 Feb 1815 at Moniaive, Glencairn and christened 19 Feb. As she was married and out of the house, she doesn't show on any Census. She married John Harper. They were my ggg grandparents.
I myself, am stuck finding deaths for John Kirkpatrick and Margaret Mathieson. I have traced the above mentioned son John G W Kirkpatrick. He died in 1870. His parents are listed on his death certificate with no (deceased) after their name. However John Kirkpatrick senior drops offs the Census between 1861 and 1871. Margaret drops off after 1871. I also cannot find out who the grandson mentioned in 1851 census is. I can't find that Margaret married a Smith. Agnes married a Harper. Unless there are more children between Agnes and Margaret that I can't find. I know John Kirkpatrick senior very probably haled from the Kirkpatrick Clan on the area. I believe his father was John Kirkpatrick Esquire and his mother Janet Carruthers but there are several John Kirkpatricks and I am wanting to cross reference with the information on the death certificate. I have printed off several possibilities but none feel right.
