Thank you very much Mrs Grumpy , that's the one, just trying to work out if she is the long lost aunt I have been searching for, I was hoping it might show if she was travelling with her husband Charles.

best wishes

Gins,

Thanks for looking , the Good family shown are Janet's relatives, Margaret Good senior is her sister .

I do have information on the Good's , but nothing that involves Charles and Jenny Knuckey I'm afraid,

Jean Report 6 Jun 2013 18:08

Hello,

Just a quick update on my search for the Knuckys.

The death record that safc found for Janet Knucky is the correct one but the parents have been mistranscribed .

I have been looking on the familysearch website again and came across another record for the same Janet Knucky showing the plot owner as George E Good, Janet's brother in law who is on the 1911 census with her .

It shows on the record she died in May but the event date was in August , does anyone know what this means ?

Still looking for Charles now ,

Once again thank you to everyone who has helped,

regards
jean

Jean, on the 1911 it shows the Goods as lodgers - no relationship given. The burial record gives GE Good as her relative, but no relationship given.

How have you established he was her brother in law? Was he married to her sister?
(Sorry if I've missed it somewhere skipping between the two threads).

How was GE Good the next of kin by 1916, what happened to Charles in the intervening 5 years? Thinking aloud ....

Jean

Jean Report 6 Jun 2013 21:03

Hi MarieCeleste,

George Good was married to Margaret nee Moore, Janet's older sister , they married in Glasgow c 1897 and by the looks of things stayed with Janet and Charles in Ontario.
Both George and Margaret lived and died in Quebec .

Have no idea what happened to Charles, still looking for him .

The burial record MC posted gives a Montreal (Westmount) address for Geo, so I checked 10y of http://bibnum2.bnquebec.ca/bna/lovell/

1914-15 Good George stone mason 208 St Ferdinand
1915-16 Good George stone mason 368 St Ferdinand
1916-17 Goode Geo bulider 367 St Ferdinand [presumably a typo for builder]
1917-18 no obvious hit
1918-19 Good Geo mason 475 LaSalle Rd Verdun
1919-20 Good Geo mason 475 LaSalle Rd Verdun
1920-21 Good Geo mason 475 LaSalle Rd Verdun
1921-22 Good Geo mason 475 LaSalle Rd Verdun
1922-23 Good Geo mason 475 LaSalle Rd Verdun
1923-24 no obvious hit

On one of the years I noticed an H Good, stonecutter a block down the street - afterwards I got to wondering if Geo had a bro named Henry/Harry.

Chas was a hotel chef in 1911.

There's a Wm H Knuckey living 2km to NE of Chas - the surname's unusual enough that I wonder if they're related.

Jean Report 7 Jun 2013 10:02

mgnv,

Thank you ,
George Good did have brother Harry b 1884 and died in Quebec in the '50's .
I wonder if he is on the 1911 census ?

As for Wm Knuckey I have no idea if he is related to Charles as I know next to nothing about Charles but as you say it is an unusual surname.

I am on the trail again today so hopefully something will come up .

When i finally found Janet yesterday I could not believe it , I have been searching for her for years so it just shows you should never give up .
