Many many thanks, I shall definitely keep this reference and give it a bit more thought.

Hi Derek

I have a William Chatterton marrying a Maria Wild in about 1826. Can you find this marriage?
Also, I believe this Maria Wild was born in Hayfield in about 1803, but don't know her parents??

Regards
Marilyn

Sorry to hear about the disappearance of your thread Derek

It makes no sense at all.

Hopefully GR will give you some sort of answer ..... though Sue has never received one!

Derek, might I ask you to look something up for me please in that case? A long shot, but here goes!

I have a relative born about 1771 in Derbyshire - either Lenton or Linton. At first I thought she was married to a John Myatt but I am not entirely sure, she might possibly have been unmarried. . In any case her name was Maria Myatt.

Thank you!

So sorry about your thread Derek, I know it was very popular. The same thing happened to Sue's Help Us To Help You Thread on TTF a few weeks ago. No idea why.......it just went! GR gremlins maybe?

However, we did just the same and started up again.......keep up the good work sunshine - we won't let them beat us will we?

Go for it!!!

I know exactly how you feel, like you I'm hooked on the unravelling process and spend a lot of time at the Jersey Archive looking things up for others, especially as all my lot are in the UK and there's not a lot I can do from here.
Unfortunately at the moment nobody's looking for any Jersey ancestors.

I've pasted the Wombles of Wellow on the Notts thread. Luckily, as it was a bit involved I'd put the info in a Word document before I sent it to you.

Hi pam.......make sure you Bookmark this thread..and yes please send the Wombles to me again.cos at the moment i have nothing to do!!! lol

Glad you noticed the Notts thread!!..though I don't have the resources for Notts that i do for derbys......but I'm a crafty so and so..and can forage quite well!

Please note that i have "Who are we looking for in Derbyshire" on the Tips Board..

and an insignifcant little East Yorkshire Thread!!

and yes..the bar is open!! xx

Hi jan..good question, because it gives me an opportunity to repeat the information i headed my defunct thread with.

I have full Parish Records for about 65 Derbyshire Parishes.most of them from about 1650-1900.........others don'y go as early as that becasue the parishes were not formed that early.

I also have access to all the census records 1841-1901..nationally not just Derbyshire..and of course national BMD's 1837 onwards..

Plus a whole host of other Derbyshire records.

And!! the tragedy of losing all my work is that i veruy often travel to Derbyshire records Office at Matlock..to search records that i don't personally own.

And i do this all totally free of charge.doesn't make me a saint becasue i have become hooked on it, and therefore it is my treasured hobby..and i enjoy the often tortuous paths it leads up.....it's like doing extremely difficult crosswords.

And apparently people love just reading my thread!!

I am really upset for you that your wonderful thread has disappeared - thank goodness I'd made a note of all the fantastic information you've sent me over the last few months.

Do I need to re-send you my Wombwell request, I can put it on your Notts thread now having discovered it when looking for the Derbyshire one.

Good job the sun's over the yardarm!
