Hi all,can anyone help please,i've been trying to find Edmund Townend b1897 in Derby on the 1901 & 1911 census's but had no luck.I now he was alive then as he waskilled at the battle of the Somme.If anyone could find him it would be greatly appreciated

The Derby birth looks very promising. If you get the cert you might be able to confirm it was him and hence at least have his parents. Do you have the names of any other family members?
Intersetingly he is the only Derby Townend birth 1880-1920.

I have sent for his birth certificate which should arrive anytime now !! I have no idea who his parents were,but hopefully once the certificate arrives i'll beable to find them on census's.Thank you for your help all of you

Thanks for all your help.His birth certificate arrived yesterday and i assume he was illegitamate as no father was mentioned.
Thank you for the info on him Glitterbaby,he was a Rifleman.
