Hi. Recently signed up and found this thread when researching my family history as my Dad was born at 22 Russell Road in 1921.
Russell Road ran between Gloucester Road and Sydenham Road (Northcte Road end) running parallel with Lahore Road which was demolished in a slum clearance scheme in 1966 which will probably have also done for Russell Road. This is now a green area just to the North of Broadmead Junior School which was built on the site of Lahore Road.

Thanks for the pm. Any idea what road led of Russel Road maybe one of them will still be there.

Matthew and Jane Elwood who had my great great grandfather Francis Edward Elwood baptised in 1807 at Horsham Sussex. There is no sign of Matthew or Jane from this date and my great great grandfather was brought up as Francis Edward Elwood MITCHELL

I put Russel Road intp Google Earth but it's not listed Russel HIll Roas is though

Where was Russell Road in Croydon ?has the area been Demolished.Looking for the Johnson family living there in the early 1900s
