You can buy "uncertified" images of the GROI (or whatever it's called) register enrty.
They contain the same info that is in a regular "certificate" (but the're not valid for some official purposes, like claiming citizenship or getting a passport.
The advantage of "uncertified" images is that they're cheaper (in both Irelands). They're cheaper still in the Republic if you provide the ref info, such as:

This b.cert would give mother's maiden surname.

Thank you both very very much. I thought I had hit a Brick wall in this line. which is my Father's. I have not been on Genes for quite a while , so i am very much behind. I am also on Familysearch & Ancestry. hope fully we will all have progressed.

John Carey;1877-1948= Simonstown, Gaybrook, Mullingar Eire.Place of Death.
Had Son by first wife James Carey;1912 who settled in england,sometime around 19335 Died Weymouth Dorset 1995. James had a Younger Half Sister named Alice and Brother Paddy.who were born in Simonstown, Gaybrook,Mullingar.
John was married twice and I believe one of his wives maiden names might have been Bradly, of Rochford bridge,Gaybrook.
