I wish to find the marriage of James Waddley. the only imformation I have is that he was born in1847 in Worcestershire but lived most of his life in Lydbrook Gloucestershire.

he says he is single and he has a housekeeper, Elizabeth Brookes, aged 41, same as in 1901.

The Emma Rossiter niece in the 1901 census is daughter of David Rossiter and Mary Ann in Lydbrook in 1911.
David Rossiter and Mary Ann Waddley married in 1895 in Ross reg dist.

Christine, it seems Edward has just re-joined Genes. He PM'd me under the impression I might be related, hence my reply to 'nudge' his thread. So he is definitely back!

That is of course always the question - looking for a marriage where there was none?

I think was a younger generation, they are in Upton Bishop in 1901, aged 27 and 25.
Also there is no death of a Mary Wad*ley in 1900 or 1901.

If James was in fact a widower in 1901, he likely married earlier.

he only information I have is John Wadley married Sarah Symonds at Hanley Castle Worcestershire and they had a son John Wadley. He was my gg grandfather he was the one who changed the spelling of our name to Waddley
