John Brown was born at Crathie and was buried there. On his death Queen Victoria paid him the tribute.

'Friend more than Servant, Loyal, Truthful, Brave
Self less than Duty, even to the Grave'

he died at Windsor Castle in February 1883, aged 56.

John Brown was buried in Crathie kirkyard close to Balmoral.

Hi,

A bit of a long shot, but is there availabe anywhere, a family tree of the famous John Brown 1826 - 1883.

He was the famous servant to Queen Victoria. I have a family story that I may be connected to him somewhere/somehow!

Any info most welcome.

Thanks,

Marcus
