I am trying to trace the roots of my grandfather Cecil George Black who was known as George. He was born in May 1912 I believe and came from a large family in Belfast. He joined the british army as a young man and moved to england. He finished his army career as a Captain in the army after ww2. He was with the Royal Artillery in Woolwich.

I want to try and find out about his irish roots. I know that he had a sister called Wilemina (?) known as Ina. The family lived in a place called Woodstock place in Belfast. Some of the brothers included Norman, Ernie, Jim but only the one sister who married and became a SMYTH. Ina Smyth lived at 110 Imperial st, Belfast 6, Northern Ireland. She definately had 2 sons Billy and George. We believe that all the other children stayed in Ireland.

I believe that my great granfather was a fireman, in Belfast (sorry -name unknown).

Any help to trace the family would be appreciated so that I can update my family tree etc. Thanks for all and any help with this.
Kind regards - jessica
