Irish certificates can be purchaed through here:

http://www.groireland.ie/ For Southern Ireland (Eire)

http://www.groni.gov.uk/index.htm For Northern Ireland BDM’s

I know for Souther Ireland, you have the option to have a certificate printed on a blank piece of paper which is cheaper than having it printed on the Official appropriate BDM Certificate. The information given is identical.

Hi was just wondering if someone could help me find out some details about my great grandad. All I know is that he was born around 1995 and I presume in Ireland as my Mum was born in Limerick. He had a son in 1914 called John Bernard Broughton. On the marriage certificate to my nan it say he was an able seaman in the merchant navy. Many thanks in advance. Eve
