What occupation was recorded for Henry on his son's marriage cert?

perhaps you don't know that there wasn't a penalty for not registering a birth until 1875, so that may be why you can't find one for Henry

If you get a copy of Joseph's birth cert, you'll find out what Charlotte's maiden name was, which should help with unravelling this, although the baptism doesn't leave much room for doubt about his father

(Having trouble finding any later records for John Mathew. No further info on the ancestry tree either ??)
Looks like another one that disappeared.

(On marriage certificate it states that John was living Dixon Street and his father was called John and was deceased)


There's a tree on ancestry with this family (has some lovely photos too).

It states that in 1911 Joseph was living with his mother and ( stepfather ).

The John M. Lockwood in 1891 census can't be the same person as the Henry Lockwood in 1901 census.

John M. Lockwood states born in Huddersfield:-
Births Dec 1865 (>99%)

............which would fit with the marriage record.

In 1901 census Harry is noted as being born in 1858 Sheffield:-

The couple may have seperated and Charlotte went on to live with Henry/Harry but never married him. As Joseph was very young at the time then he may have only known Henry and so put his name down on his marriage record?

Henry Lockwood
I am trying to find a Henry Lockwood born c1858 either in the sheffield area or leeds area. He was married to a Charlotte and had one child only, a son Joseph c 1889.
I get so far in my search and then it gets mixed up with a John Lockwood who also had a wife called Charlotte and a son called Joseph.
I hope some one can sort this mix up out for me because I am getting really frustrated with this one.
