My rellie was married twice and on the last marriage used her birth maiden name and on the childs cert used her previous married name on the wedding cert.... took ages to unravel...

Do you just hates those!

I agree with Tracey. It was always the mother's maiden name on birth certificates. Sometimes her former married name maybe on it too.

It was common practice to use the married surname when remarrying as at that time most remarriages were by widows.

So unless you have an idea of their first names or where they married they will be very difficult to track.

Long shot i know, but is it possible she was married before and has gotten herself a little confused with her surname?

She may have married with her previous married name and used her original maiden name for the births??

I have one of those!!!

I can see the birth reg's for these children in Edmonton, Thornbury + Birmingham ?? - surname Cartwright mmn Box.

Have checked 1890 - 1920 for a marriage - can't find one to fit, sorry!

I am looking for anyone who can find a marriage between these two surnames CARTWRIGHT AND BOX before 1915.
There children were Edith Mary Cartwright born 1915, David E Cartwright born 1918 and Robert J Cartwright born 1925.
