My great grandfather was John Dyer born 14 Aug 1881 and married Ellen "Nellie" Cridland born: 02 Dec 1884. They married 23 Dec 1906 in the Parish Church of Taunton St. James, County of Somerset, England. John Dyer's father was Walter Dyer born:Abt. 1857. He married Mary Anna Cook born: Abt. 1856 in Taunton. They married 26 May 1878 in the Parish Church of Taunton St. James in the County of Somerset, England. Walter Dyer & Mary A. Cook had 5 children I believe. (1) Elizabeth Jane Dyer (born: about 1881) (2) John Dyer my great grandfather (born: 14 Aug 1881). (3) Ernest Dyer (born: about 1887) (4) Laurence Dyer (born: about 1889) (5) William Henry Dyer (born: Unknown). Ellen Cridland (known as Nellie) was the daughter of James Cridland & Sarah Ferris. James Cridland was (born: 12 Jan 1844 in Taunton Saint James, County of Somerset, England and died I believe on the 27 Oct 1886 at 4 Tangier, Taunton, Somerset, England). James Cridland married Sarah Ferris who was born about 1855 in Bradninch or Exeter, Devon, England. James Cridland and Sarah Ferris married 24 April 1881, St. John's, Taunton, Somerset, England. They had three children that I know of. (Annie Eliza Cridland, Ellen “Nellie Cridland & William Cridland who died as an infant in 1885). (1) Annie Eliza Cridland (born: about May 1879). She married a Mr. William Weeks. Annie came to Canada (Windsor) in 1906). Mrs Annie Eliza weeks (nee: Cridland) lived at Reedmere Boulevard, Riverside at some point. (2) Ellen "Nellie" Cridland born: 02 Dec 1884, 15 Tangier, Bishop Hall, Taunton Saint James, County of Somerset, England and died 18 Oct 1956, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Ellen “Nellie” Cridland and John Dyer came to Canada in 1910 from England and had 5 Children. (1) Lawrence James Dyer (born: 27 Jan 1909 in Taunton, Somerset, England and died 30 Jul 1986, Cedar View Lodge, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada). (2) Ernest Henry Dyer (born: 01 Nov 1912, Lion's Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and died 17 Nov 1979 Lion's Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada). (3) Ronald Walter Dyer (born: 23 Aug 1916 in Lion's Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and died 11 Nov 1974 Lion's Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (4) Winnie Dyer (born Abt. 1918). (5) Harold John Dyer (my grandfather) Born: 09 Apr 1920 Lion's Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and died 06 Mar 1991, Lion's Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. |
