I am trying to find out any information on this man, his wife, children or parents.

In 1819 he was in Dublin with his regiment and I conclude that his son Thomas Henry Emms c1819 was born there. In 1825/1826 the regiment accompanied convicts out to Australia on numerous convict ships. The Emms family travelled to several different parts of Australia with the regiment including the Raffles Bay settlement near what is now Darwin. James Emms is mentioned several times in material relating to this settlement however his wife is merely Mrs Emms, and no childrens names are given.

He took his discharge in Port Jackson in 1832 before the regiment left to serve in India.

I have been totally unable to locate any enlistment details etc c1812-1815, given the pay books and discharge inforamtion, I have seen on the Australian Joint Copying Project microfilme of the British records. I have not found a regimental number next to his name at any time. At one stage he was a corporal but was demoted for being drunk on duty whilst in Raffles Bay.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
