I thought I would let you all know that if you are searching for relatives that it is possible to find them, even if you only have one name to go on.

My father in law was adopted by his mothers parents as she died when he was a baby, and his father signed him over, all I had was his name, but this week after over 60 years I managed to track down 3 half brothers for my FIL. it was painstaking at times, and in the end was down to looking at every quarter for every year, and in just an hour I found a new wife for his natural father and then I found he had more children.

I don't know why I didn't do it years ago, it would have saved me so much time, and I don't know why I didn't, so if you think there is no hope try just going to Ancestry.co.uk and searching every record!!
