Does anyone know of a John Smith born in Forbes NSW c1874, who was 'bribed' by a John McArdle (who had no children) to take on the surname McArdle for himself and all his future children - in exchange for John McArdle's land in Orange, NSW?? John Smith married Lillian Angus in 1898.
