1832 - Dunsmuir, John & Railley, Jane

This couple are my ggg grandparents and I am stuck!

I have a marriage record for them - with the names spellings as given above, date 27 Jan 1832 in Auchinleck, Ayr, Scotland (GROS 577/ 0020 0275).

I am unable to find a birth record for either of them - and would appreciate any help or tips.

For John I have worked through: Dinsmoor, Dinsmor, Dinsmuir, Dunsmuir & Dunsmur. I don't have a death record - and his name is too common to even try guessing at what age he might have died.

For Jane I have worked through: Rilly, Rilley, Relly, Reily, Reilly, Reilley, Really, Railley, Railey & Raelly -- and have played with variants of Jean & Janet.

The closest record fitting the time frame is Jean Rilly (daug of William Rilly) b. 19/07/1807 in Auchinlieck (GROS 577/ 0010 0146). A search on this parent produces two additional children: Ann 3/10/1802, and Marion 29/12/1799 - no mother mentioned.

I have found the couple in the 1851 census ... and was able to verify the couple through the birth records of some of the children listed - in 1851 John was 45 (and blind) and Jane was 42.

Jane appears again on the 1971 census staying with her son and his family.

Any help would be appreciated, or suggestions as to what to try next.

Thanks, Craig.
