Stuart Report 4 Aug 2008 08:45

Trying to find the parents of John Collie (b abt 1755-1759) in Scotland. Married in Edinburgh October 1781.
If Scottish naming traditions for children were followed his parents names could have been William and Margaret.
I have searched Scotlandspeople and IGI records but have not been able to come up with anything definite.
The surname of Collie seems to have been common along the East Coast of Scotland from Moray down to Perth.
Any help much appreciated.
Regards
Stuart
