Hi

Not sure if this will be of any help to someone out there, but a few weeks ago a lady kindly sent me a page from the 1881 census listing members of my family (John Bland and mistress Eliza Waite both hawkers and 6 of their 8 children, along with John's brother Joseph, his wife and 4 children ) living in tents in Smiths Orchard, Kingwood Common, Oxon. Also living in tents in Smiths Orchard are a William Luveridge (presumably Loveridge), a hawker aged 40, his mistress Elizabeth Newport aged 34 also a hawker from Eastlich, Gloucester, son, Will Archer aged 14 born Runville, Berks, Mathew aged 8 born Reading, Berks, Eadeth Newport aged 5 born Northlich, Gloucester and Sarah aged 2 born Abingdon, Berks.

Can anybody claim Mr Loveridge and his family?

Regards

Janette
