My grandfather on my father's side was Charles Alexander Parsons born illegitimately to Sarah Hall in c1885 in Barrow in Furness. He was known with the surname Hall but his birth certificate shows him as Parsons. They moved to the Salford area. Sarah was born in Oldbury where she lived before moving to Barrow with her father and brother. There was a George Parsons at one of the addresses Sarah lived at - maybe this was the father. Sarah's father was a clog maker.
