lived in Holywell St. Shoreditch in 1815. Father of George Gotch born April 1815. Married to Catherine? Probably employed in Boot and shoe making. May have come from Northamptonshire where Gotch and Sons made boots. Want link to northampton Gotch's if possible and details of siblings, parents and dob/ date of death.

Rebecca,
I think Lisa has come up with stuff that I have just discovered myself this afternoon. My wife's mother was Mary Gotch and I have got back to John b1781 who was born in Kettering according to the 1851 census. Mary used to talk about "Uncle Alfred the Architect" who can only be John Alfred Gotch the brother of Thomas Cooper Gotch the painter - they are a famous family in Kettering. However, like you I cannot make the link at the moment. If you find out about John's father please let me know

Five years on, I wonder where you got with all this? See my posting "Gotch of Kettering". Looks like these are all related and there was a significant interconnected movement of Gotches (and other families)from Kettering to West Ham early in the 19th century. Will check tree search.

Roger, You've obviously noticed this is an old post. Rebecca who started it appears not to have acknowledged what info was posted at the time and has only 1 post to her name. IF she is still a GR member and still has the same email address you could try clicking on her name and GR will forward your message direct.

Your post to which you refer.............but Stuart is correct. Rebecca doesn't appear to acknowledged the efforts of those who tried to help, so she won't be back now
