My great grandmother Eliza Mona Thompson married Henry Phillips around 1919. Their son George was born 1917 in Camberwell/Peckham but his birth wasn't registered until 1919. I believe there was another son called Brian. George married Joan Redfearn in 1944, but his war service in Asia made him extremely ill and he died in May 1953 aged only 35. George's middle name was Percy and he used to threaten to beat people up if they laughed!
