Trying to find any Sawyers from CASTLEFORD, YORKSHIRE. My grandmother, Sylvia Sawyer was born 29/01/1913 in Castleford and lived a 2 Calder St, Whitwood Mere. Her parents were Abel Sawyer (b.1883, a miner) and Agnes Martha Sawyer (nee Jones). Abel and Agnes had the following children:- 1.Hilda Saywer, who married Horrace Shakleton. They had a son, Alan. 2.Rennie Sawyer, who married Herbert Kear. 3.Herbert Sawyer, who had two children, Jack and Sylvia. 4.Abel Sawyer, who possibly died at a young age. 5. Agnes Sawyer, who married Harry Schofield. 6. Sylvia Sawyer, who married Jack Betteridge. |
