Trying to find info about Isabella Purvis. She lived at howard Street Newcastle on tyne. She had an illegitimate daughter who was baptised in 1868 at St Annes.On the baptism record the daughter is known as Agnes Anne Purvis but when she married John Power in 1896 on the marriage certificate she was known as Agnes Anne Beckwith Purvis Scott and her place of abode is Coxlodge Hall, and fathers name is John Beckwith. We think either John Beckwith and wife adopted Agnes or Isabella married John Beckwith and he brought Agnes up as his own. Agnes then married beneath her to John Power, a grocer's clerk and was disinherited. HELP!!! |
