Find Ancestors

I am trying to find parents of Henry Porter born 1672-1733 he married Ann Phypers (1677-1702) on 2nd June 1697, we believe they both came from Haddenham in Cambridgeshire.
Trying to get tree further back, any help appreciated.

Hi Sam,
You very kindly got back to me re Henry Porter suggesting I try Family Search. I tried a site called that but there are a few. The one you saw him on, (or maybe he is the one) is this a site I need to pay a subscription for. If so then can you tell me if it is a good site and worth the money. I sem to be paying out so much at the moment and though I donot mind some of the ones I have paid to are rubbish as they are no better than Genes as they go back no further.
As you can see I am a novice at this and it is both frustrating and exciting at the same time.
Comments on the site would be greatly appreciated please before I try to get further with Henry!!!

My concern is that this site may only go back to Henry 1672 and not further back which will not allow me to discover who his parents are.

Familysearch.org is a free site. I think this is the entry, but it is only a submitted one and sometimes the information is a little dodgy. It would certainly need backing up:

I think you are lucky to get so far back so soon and records for the dates you want will now become more difficult to find.
