Trying to find a Walter (G) Panther who married an Elsie B Hicks about 1912? Elsie was born in Stratford upon Avon in approx 1895.
They had a daughter Myra born approx 1920.
Has anyone knowledge of Walter's birth or parents please?

You need to get the Panther-Hicks marriage certificate, which should, barring unusual circumstances (like him not knowing his father's name), give you his age at marriage and father's name.

This should enable you to locate him in the 1901 and 1911 censuses, for example, hopefully with his parents.

Have you looked at FreeBMD for a birth that would fit? It wouldn't seem to be a common name.

-- if you find him on a free search, you search for people named Panther "living with" Walter Panther in the same place.

The same goes for Elsie - the marriage certificate will give you info you need to find her, and meanwhile you can look at FreeBMD. "Approx 1895" seems rather young to have married in 1912.

Of course, you said "about 1912", and FreeBMD should solve that too -- search for the marriage of a Hicks to a Panther to find the date, and the info you need to order the certificate.

Searching for births with surname Panther and mother's surname Hicks will also find the children.

Anyone here could do all that for you -- but it is much more interesting to do it yourself!

The chance of anyone who actually has knowledge of any of it reading your message is close to nil, but other members here can help if you get stuck.

And oh well, while I was trying to be helpful and typing all that out, others did it anyhow.
