The name Osgathorpe comes from Osgood's Thorpe in Leicestershire but my grandmother, Mary Jane Osgathorpe came from Bourne in Lincolnshire. Osgathorpes had lived in Bourne for over 100 years when Mary Jane died. I've seen a Lincolnshire Almanac for 1851 which gave the name of a local sweep in Bourne as Osgathorpe.
