My Grandad Robert George Newton was a Bosun on the Tea Clippers (late 1800-early 1900's), later a Dockworker. I believe he was born in Newcastle-on-Tyne probably in the 1870's. His children, including my father, were born and brought up in Kerry Street, Canning Town,West Ham, London. He married a Lydia Elisa Garfield possibly about 1900, but I can find no records, any help would be appreciated
