Hello to any McCurley's (or relatives of) out there. My name is Helen and I am interested in investigating the history of the McCurley name and thereafter, to find any long lost relatives. * The only story I heard of the history so far was that the name origintes from County Antrim and Roscommon in Ireland. The name was originally McCorley and through the years was mispelt. * Roddy McCorley was hanged on the bridge of 'Toom?' for 1. Sheep stealing! or 2. Rebel causes! Don't know if this is all true. There was a old song out long long ago with this story in it but, whether it pertains to the McCurley's, or not is unceratin. So, maybe someone can put me right. I'd like to know. |
