Trying to find McAlees

I am trying to find any trace of the McAlees family from Port Glasgow. The name can be spelt a number of ways (MacAleese, MacAlees} and I'm not sure which one they used. My Grandfather's name was John James (Jock) and my grandmothers name (maiden) was Sarah Smith. They had six children Mary, Jean, Sophia, Morag, Daniel and John All now dead. I know they moved to Northern Ireland for a long period and when they moved back to Port Glasgow my mother Sophia had already married my Dad Robert Samuel Reid at Ballyarnett Church just outside Londonderry. Any information about ancestry would be welcome
