LYMN: The LYMN family has very strong Nottingham roots in the 1800's. Although in the 1700's they originated from areas of Derbyshire they appeared to have moved over to Mansfield and Nottingham. Parnham LYMN (My Gr, Gr, G/father) was involed in the making of lace and was listed in the Whites Directory as a Lace Manuf and front bonnet maker on Short Hill, Nottm. Frances Mary LYMN (my gr, Aunt) was known as Madame Fanny LYMN who was involved with the musical life of the city of Nottingham. Trained at the Royal College of Music and teacher of the vocal art, she was well known throughout the Midlands for her contribution to music appearing in old operas in Nottingham and the Theatre Royal, Nottingham.
