DELAPIERRE HAWKES In 1846, my Great-Grandfather Miles Gerald Keon, married Anne Delapierre Hawkes in the Sardinian Chapel of St Giles Church, London. One of the witnesses was her father, Abiathur Hawkes, a military man. Miles had been in the French Foreign Legion and originally from County Leitrim, Ireland. He became a novelist and journalist and finally diplomat,to the Colonial Office in Bermuda.Can anyone throw any light on either family, and whether they had any legitimate children, because it seems my grandfather had a different mother,and it would be interesting to clarify! |
