Edmund Charles Parrish Hows husband of Martha Annie nee Gillings. He is listed as a chauffeur on my grandfather, Jacks' Wedding Certificate. I believe he lived in the Finchley/Southgate area of Middlesex. A census return from 1901 shows an Edmund Hows from the Finchley area listed as a builder/porter originating from Stratford in Essex. Martha Annie married a Hetherington in her 2nd marriage. Edmund had 2 children Cecil (later to change his name by deed poll to Hetherington) and Jack. I have an old photo that shows a funeral procession headed by a fire engine and my parents believe Edmund at some stage was a fireman. The funeral procession was possibly at Hatton Cross near Heathrow. The family owned a farm there on what is now Airport land. |
