HICKS I am trying to trace the HICKS family orginally from KENT. Ernest Arthur HICKS 1893-1974 had two brothers Richard (who had ason Richard and 4 daughters Betty Kitty and 2 others) and Bert and 3 sisters Elizabeth Rose known as Bess (m Bert) Emily (m Alf Giles) Rose (m Alf Newnham) Their parents were Ellen RUSSELL and Harry HICKS of Staplehurst. Harry went to SOUTH AFRICA (before 1902)and fought in the Boer War. he died in a hospital there. Harry had a brother James HICKS (m Susan) and two sisters who m Bert Chatfield and Harry Springett. Harrys father was James HICKS. James lived with is son Jamesand Susan in the Royal Oak in Staplehurst. If any of this ties in with your family tree, please let me know. Thank Kim Hicks.
