A very interesting story about Margaret Vulcan HEDDICK: Born on 29th October 1852 on board British troop ship, "HMS Vulcan" (hence her middle name),in the Bay of Biscay. Her father was accidently shot by his own sentry and later died of his wounds. She was married twice and she had 18 children (17 of whom were born in Army barracks). Her great grand daughter (my wife) carried on her family tradition by marrying a soldier.
