I have looked for marriages on bmd but can't work out which ones they are married to

Unfortunately, you need to do a bit of 'leg-work' when looking for info such as you are trying to find.

Look on freebmd for marriages.................then look at the next census, to find out which person on the page married which 'other' person on the same page............

It's slow, and requires a deal of 'trial and error', but very rewarding when the pieces fall into place............

That looks right Jim. My g grandmother Josephs' sister lived in Cornforth after her marriage so he could have met Ellen there

My g grandmother was Mary Ann Gill 1857 which I presume is the 13 year old on the census as Marcy. Looks like a spelling mistake as I am told that happened a lot. The others are definately her siblings

Hi, these people above are related to me, my dad, was george gill, granda george gill, joseph was related,benjamin, think he did boxing,thomas, my aunt hannah had sweet shop in cornforth, they all from west cornforth, ellen to, if ou still on can you contact me on [email protected] , they all buried togteher at west cornforth grave yard, only my dad at coxhoe church yardx angela gillx :-)
