Trying to find any information on William Foster, born 1802, Dublin. Married Grace Thompson from March, Cambridgeshire on 15/7/1825 in Liverpool. Joined Royal Marines in 1826 in Manchester and served at Woolwich. Was discharged from marines in 1842. Died before 1851 as Grace is a widow in 1851 census.

Hilary,
Sorry you are not having any luck with replies!
William Foster is a relatively common name, and freeBMD gives around 10 deaths per month for that period, without giving ages. You might narrow it down by comparing the residence of Grace in 1851, with William Fosters' death registration area in freeBMD.
However, it might be a false lead if he was away from that area when he died.
Not much help, I know.
regards, Leslie

I have a new problem now. I have marriage record for John Foster to Clarinda Huben on 6th May 1831 at Speldhurst, Kent.
I have baptism record for their son George Huben Foster on 12 Sept 1841 in Speldhurst, Kent.
There is a 10 year gap between their marriage and George's birth (unusual but not unheard of) there have been no siblings found.
No other records have been found for John Foster. Clarinda is on own in 1841 census and living with sister and son George as widow in 1851 census.
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

It does look though as if john may not be the father. She wasn't with john on the 1841 and George wasn't born then it would seem

Unless!!! There is a John aged 45 at the same address but given a ditto of the surname of the lady above him

It would be interesting to see where she was living on the baptism record
