Hubert Mervyn Bates was nearly 20 years younger than his sister !!!!!!!

I'm researching the Bates side of my family and all the people you've mentioned I think are my relatives?

I'm researching Hubert Mervyn Bates - he was 'adopted' by 'Annie & Frank' Bates. They lived in Liverpool in Percy Street. Frank or John Francis was a seaman and he died and was buried at sea (that is why he's not on the census)

Hubert had a sister 'May' Bates. I think Elizabeth Frances May Bates was his sister? John Francis Bates his father and Annie May Bertie his mother

Hubert married a Veronica Mary Daniels (who came from London) in Liverpool - Annie his mother was a witness, father Frank deceased.

I'm having to go on a marriage certificate, family hearsay and a few scrappy bits of documents as Hubert died just after returning from WWII

Please would you get in touch as I'd love to hear if i'm correct??

I've only just decided to find out what i can about her , ( i've found the divorce Times online )
I'm reassured that there were no children born into the marriage , but they kept the fact she was a bigamist from us .the curiosity is getting the better of me .

Elizabeth Frances May Bates aged 11 born Liverpool , was with her mother Annie May Bates aged 38 born Cork. There is no man in the house but it is recorded that Annie had been married for 13 years and she had only had one child.
There was a visitor with them Agnes Elizabeth Cowell aged 37 a nu.rse born in Liverpool
