Have traced name back to Whitechapel, London circa 1790. My Eidmans came to South Wales in 1870s but little known about them. Some of the family seem to have disappeared! There is a Kate (Beatrice)Eidman who moved (possibly through marriage) to Weston Super Mare, after that, we know nothing! She had a younger sister Christine, who died, aged 14 years. There was also a brother called William that I can't trace, looks like he didn't make the move to S Wales, may possibly have joined Navy. Another brother was called Algernon, and there are vague family recollections on him, but we don't know where he went from S Wales. Their mother was Scottish - from the Edinburgh region and her name was Isabella Scott - her father was a sea captain. Any Eidmans (or connections to Eidman/n/s) information appreciated.
