Florence Minnie Davey born 1892 to William James and Mary Jane Davey (nee Lowen). Florence known to the family as Minnie. Minnie had a child out of wedlock (heather Daphne Livesey) Minnie listed her name on Heathers birth certificate as Phyllis Livesey formerly Davey. Heather was born on 2 June 1921 in Richmond Surrey. Heathers father is listed as Walter John Livesey but he was already married so the family story goes so Minnie and Walter could never of been married. I have found both Minnie and heather returning from trips to Australia but have been unable to locate a death for Minnie as she kept changing her name but feel sure she would of stayed near Surrey as her elder sister Margaret Wheeler lived in the area. Family relatives have been lead to believe that Heather never married and she could still be alive. Any information on either Heather Livesey or Minnie would be great espically a date of death so i can get a death cert. Florence Minnie Davey is my great aunt. thank you

I don't think this one is correct as it has George Childs as father in law to head of house and you said William married Mary jane Lowen

brummiejan - thank you for your reply to my post and yes Heather D Livesey mother is listed on her birth cert a Phyllis Livesey formerly Davey (i have a copy of her birth cert) as far as the family in NZ was told Florence changed her name to Phyllis (she never married Jack Livesey as he was already married and heather was born out of wedlock) so finding a death for Florence M Davey aka Phyllis Livesey is proving very difficult, we were told that she did marry and either she had been married before or he was a bigamist and that is all we know.
Susan you were correct with your marriage and baptism dates also thank you all so much for all you help.

William and Mary Jane Davey also had a daughter Gladys Beatrice Davey born Hackney 1902, would someone mind awfully to try and find a baptisim for her and also if they can find Mary Jane Davey and Gladys Beatrice Davey on the 1911 census. I have tried to find them but cannot locate them, i have found in the 1911 census William James davey, florence Minnie Davey and William Edward davey.
Mary Jane Davey is not listed with her husband (possibly seperated) as in 1913 Mary Jane Davey and her youngest child Gladys Beatrice came to New Zealand to live leaving her remaining 3 grown up children in the UK.. :-)

how wonderful and very interesting...on her birth cert she is Gladys Beatrice and she was known all her life as Gladys but this does put a wonderful twist on it as i agree with you about the name change. I bet she would be in the 1911 census with Mary Jane as Alice Beatrice Davey not Gladys as i have searched but have been unable to locate her.. Mary Jane Davey is proving to be a interesting.

Sadly the above baptism isn't one of mine as mother is listed as Mary Ann. They had Florence Minnie Davey baptised in Sept 1891. They only had 4 children with my nana being the youngest.
Would you able to search the 1911 census, as you discovered there is some sort of name change for Gladys Beatrice Davey (Baptised as Alice Beatrice Davey) I have found William james, margaret Ellen, Florence Minnie Davey on the 1911 census. Mary Jane & William James Davey only son William Edward Davey (known as Teddy in the family) i think was in the united states at the time of the 1911 census but i have not been able to find Mary Jane Davey and her youngest child Gladys Beatice (or Alice Beatrice) Davey..
My mother was very surprised when i told her of your fantastic discovery today... :-)

Update from my last post on Florence Minnie Davey. Florence M Davey married George Glenmore Sheppard around 1914..Florence went on to have a daughter to a Walter John Livesey (daughter: Heather Daphne Livesey dob: 1921) I have had it confirmed that George Glenmore Sheppard went onto father 4 children with his 2nd wife who was French. I cannot find a divorce for them. Florence M Sheppard (nee Davey) has listed her name on her daughters birth cert as Phyllis Livesey (she never married her daughters father) I have found on the 1962 Electors Roll a Phyllis Emery living with a H.D Livesey at 4 Abbots Park but then in the 1964 electors it only lists H.D Livesey as living at 4 Abbots Park. I looked back and found a Phyllis Emery living with a George Frank Emery in 1938 living at 60 Aberdare Gardens Camden (not sure if this is my great aunt or not but I am rather hopeful that it is my gt aunt living with her daughter in 1962.
Can anyone find a marriage for Phyllis to a George Frank Emery or a death for Phyllis Emery between 1962 - 1964.
This great aunt of mine was a very colourful person all her alias names.
Any help would be great as I am now hitting a brick wall. I have found a death for a Heather Daphne Livesey in Brisbane 2009 who has the same dob as our Heather Daphne so I am hoping it is our Heather-will have this confirmed next week.

thank you so very much for this information, family had said that Florence and daughter had come to NZ to live and that heather attended school in NZ (boarding school) I have all the passenger records but as she sometimes travelled under the name of Phyllis it was getting very confusing.. My mother is the only living cousin left and she will be so thrilled to receive this information. I have finally found Heather Daphne Livesey-sadly she passed away in 2009 in Brisbane Australia. Heather has listed her mother as Phyllis Davey on her family records so know now i just need to locate a death for Phyllis Davey...
