My Great Great Grandparents were Henry Dale and Mary, born in 1830's Cornwall, England at a place called Gear, which is near Penzance. their Children were William Henry Dale, Richard James Dale, Joseph Dale, Charles Dale and Rebecca Dale. William Henry died in Queensland in 1884, aged 20. I believe Charles later emigrated to Australia too. Is anyone out there connected to any of these ??

Hello,

Yes, I am sorry for not replying before. I have only just seen this. Just after I posted it, my mother had a massive stroke and I have been pretty tied up with her since, so I am only just getting back to my family tree

Try using the "Search" facility at the top of the screen. Click on there and then click on "search all member trees". Put in any of these names and see if anyone else has these family members in their tree. If you find anyone then you can click on their name and send a message to them direct.

Richard's birth was registered with no second name.

When did he add James?

This may be him in 1901

To confirm that it is the right person, you'd need to get a copy of the marriage cert, for his father's details

Actually, 1911 makes it seem quite likely, as the eldest boy looks to have been named after Richard's deceased brother

Hello Jaqueline,

Thank you for all of this, yes, this is my family. Richard James Dale, son of Richard Dale and Matilda nee Bennetts, was my grandfather.

Also, you are correct in believing that his older brother William Henry, was named after his father's brother who died in Queensland in 1884.

I know they were living in St Clare Street Penzance when my grandfather was a child.

I had no idea what happened to Charles or Joseph, but it certainly looks as if you have found them and I will pursue this.

Thanks so much for this, I am very grateful. Are you connected to the Dale tree ??

Sorry, I didn't know how to look at this thread when I replied earlier, I haven't got a lot of experience on this site and didn't know where to find it.

Regards,
Annette
