I am researching the Cliffe family name and at the present time I have gone back to my Grandfather x 3 James Cliffe who was a master Tailor in Chester. He was married to Martha and in 1841 lived in Queen st. Chester with John (my Gx2) and Elizabeth. The family tradition in the Tailor Business carried on for the next two generations. The family of John Cliffe moved to Manchester in 1848,he married Martha Barker in 1845.They had a son John B b 1855 in Manchester and William (my Gx1). William had a son John J in 1881. I would like to know what happened to John B and John J. Vic Cliffe |
